Roma (2020)
‘Roma’ was a short holiday video I made when I went to Rome on a school trip. Unlike my other short films, this project was done outside of my studies and was to capture the nostalgic & formative trip I had with my friends.
Although having the style of a Super 8mm film, the video was shot on my Canon EOS M50 and was later edited in post to emulate the style. I tried to encorporate the same techniques only found when using Super 8mm such as fade transitions and film burns.
The film was set to the music ‘What Once Was’ by Her’s as it was a song that we played on the trip and also reflected the fleeting nature of the such a short yet impactful trip for us.
