Belladonna (2024)
Belladonna is a short film based upon the writer's personal experiences in the K-pop industry. The film incorporates East-Asian mythology and touches upon themes of desire, identity and corruption. This short will be used as a proof of concept in hopes of turning it into a feature film in future.
Logline: Bella enters an academy for upcoming idols where she encounters the established idol, Yeonwoo. She becomes increasingly consumed by her desires, transforming her identity.
In my short film, I took on a multifaceted role, beginning with crafting detailed storyboards and shot lists to guide the visual storytelling.
Collaborating closely with the writer, I helped develop the script to refine its narrative and emotional depth. As director, I worked with actors in dual languages, ensuring authentic performances while fostering a communicative and inclusive set.
Leading the production, I managed the team to ensure a smooth workflow and creative cohesion. Post-production was another area where I was heavily involved, overseeing edits and contributing where needed.
Additionally, I designed the promotional poster and spearheaded marketing efforts to effectively showcase the film.
