Undying Love (2023)
“Undying Love” is an 8 mins nostalgic moving story that touches upon universal emotions of love, grief, and pain. The film revolves around a couple, Ren and Nabi who are preparing for their wedding with Nabi continuously recording Ren's preparation for the wedding on a camcorder. Scenes of their past recorded memories and the present weave in and out of each other throughout the film. What seems like an ordinary couple's preparation for a wedding is later revealed that it is actually a “ghost marriage”.
For this film, I played a key role in developing the script, ensuring the story resonated both culturally and emotionally.
As director, I worked closely with actors, fostering authentic performances while navigating the unique dynamics of a bilingual set.
My leadership extended across the production, where I guided the team to maintain a collaborative and focused environment. I conducted in-depth cultural research to add authenticity and depth to the film’s narrative.
Beyond production, I designed the promotional poster and led marketing efforts, ensuring the project reached its audience effectively.
The film was recognized with the Best of South West Award at the International Dirigo Film Festival and the RTS Editing Craft Award, celebrating the team’s hard work and creativity.
