Shellshocked (2024)

Shellshocked is a 30-second advert made for the Action on Salt scheme in partnership with Kodak Nahemi Student Commercial Awards 2024. The advert follows an older man preparing to eat his plate of spaghetti until he is stopped when adding salt to his plate by a snail. The advert was inspired by films like the ‘Godfather’ and ‘Goodfellas’ and was praised for its comedic and playful delivery of the scheme’s aim to reduce salt intake. The advert placed 3rd overall in the competition!

I took the role of Production Designer which was a role that was new to me but was eager to do well in! Lots of preparation was put into the design of the advert from the mountains of empty tomato sauce cans that I painstakingly repurposed from neighbours trash to the miniature furniture and objects used by the stop motion snails. Although outside of my usual roles, I thoroughly enjoyed this project as it allowed me to explore other sides of filmmaking and challenge myself to creatively express myself solely through production design!
