The Unlikely Activist (2023)
A short documentary about a Bristol-based 80-year-old, ex-Reverend, climate change activist, Sue Parfitt. The film follows her as she attends protests and XR meetings trying to get people to attend a church fundraising concert she is hosting in aid of Zero Hour.
Since the short documentary's release it has been awarded: 'Highly Commended in the Best Female Director category from Frome Film Festival 2023
For this project, my role was the camera operator which progressed my skills in observational filming as we followed our main character across multiple events and locations such as protests, meetings and her home. We also filmed interviews that helped guide the narrative of the film, piecing the story together when editing the footage. This was a really fun project as we were a small crew of 4 which meant we could work closely together and push ourselves in our roles.
